The Classic Laddie from Bruichladdich is distilled from 100% Scottish-grown barley. The recipe isn’t set in stone so it changes year by year depending which barley variety and casks taste best. Completely unpeated, this is a floral and elegant Islay whisky alive like a summer meadow. Expect notes of citrus, tablet stone, fruit caramelised in brown sugar, crunchy green apple, malt and granola. Crisp and wonderful, like taking a sip from a stream while hiking in the mountains.
In May 2020, Bruichladdich became B Corp certified which means that they’re part of a global movement of companies that put people and the planet before profit. For the eco-conscious drinker, choosing an unpeated whisky is really the only option. Making smoky whisky involves the burning of peat.
