98 points “Intense and utterly delicious Pinot Noir with a haunting perfume and silky tannins. Plum and cherry interwoven with floral violet and a subtle savoury character. Refined power.” – Bob Campbell MW

98 points “A beautiful perfumed nose with lifted rose and violet that continues on the lithe sinewy and incredibly lengthy palate. Not big brash or showy just effortlessly beautiful.” – Decanter

97 points “Fantastic bouquet with a sense of place and time a core of silty mineral and windblown soils and aromas of red berries lightly spiced cherry and whisps of brown barrel spices and wood smoke. Absolutely delicious and seductive in the palate with a core of dark cherry and old strawberry a fine savoury mineral layer and surrounded by a fine chalky tannins and acidity. Perfectly balanced yet youthful seductive as a fine Pinot Noir should be well made and lengthy. Invest while you can. Best drinking from late 2022 through 2030+.” – Cameron Douglas Master Sommelier

‘Aroha’ is a romantic word from the M?ori language meaning ‘love’. And it’s hard not to fall head over heels for this Pinot Noir from the Te Muna Road vineyard in Martinborough. This rare single-vineyard red is made from two unique parcels chosen for their complex aromatics savoury character texture and length. It’s only made in very special years and Craggy Range described the vintage conditions in 2019 as “fantastic” making this wine from their Prestige Collection simply unmissable. It pours a pale Burgundy colour and fills the glass with aromas of cherry black truffle blueberry muffins wild mushrooms goji berries rose petals delicate oak and dried flowers. There’s more of the same on the palate accompanied by spiced plum crumble an electric backbone lacy acidity satin-like tannins and a hauntingly long finish. It’s a sensational wine that unfurls like a peacock revealing immense beauty. As Cam Douglas says “invest while you can” because there isn’t a lot left.
