Del Maguey is a unique artisanal family run operation boasting a collection of fine rare unblended Mezcals. All expressions are made from 100% Espadin agave and are produced according to traditional processes dating back four hundred years. In style Mezcal can be said to resemble a cross between Tequila and Islay whisky with a pit oven roasting process imparting a distinctive smokiness to the raw spirit. Each Del Maguey release bears the name of the village where it is produced and reflects the personality culture and history of the specific location. Del Maguey Mezcals are characteristically smokey complex and authentic in style and are only available in miniscule quantities. This particular expression hails from the mountainous village of San Luis Del Rio and is 100% organic. Aromatic and spicy on the nose this craft spirit reveals nuances of pepper smoke dried fruits and perfumed floral overtones. Nuances of exotic fruit come forth on the palate with added suggestions of spice and smoke revealed on an exceptionally long finish. An excellent example of Mezcal and a great introduction to Del Meguey this delicious spirit is best sipped and savoured unmixed at room temperature at the end of a meal.
