Foursquare Equipoise is the 25th release in the award-winning Exceptional Cask Selection series from Foursquare Rum Distillery in Barbados. It is an extraordinary addition to the revered series, even more so in that it utilises ex-Calvados casks for the first time as part of the maturation.
The double maturation of ex-Bourbon and ex-Calvados casks, for a total of 14 years, leaves this complex rum with inviting aromas of toasted oak, dark chocolate and dried fruits intermingled with subtle notes of vanilla and spice. The palate reveals a luxurious and evolving experience with deep notes of caramel, molasses and roasted coffee balanced with hints of banana, fig and gentle nuances of leather. A long, warming and exquisitely smooth finish leaves a lasting impression and one which you would want to return to again and again. Presented at 61% alcohol, without chill filtration, and free from sweeteners and other adjuncts, this sensational rum exudes craftsmanship and character and is sure not to disappoint.
