Gosset is the oldest Champagne house, but one always on the cutting edge – take for example the innovative placing of the label on the neck so that it’s still visible in an ice bucket or the fact that the wines are vegan friendly. A historic and highly regarded producer, Gosset is one of Champagne’s most recognisable and cherished names.
Gosset Grand Rosé is a blend of 58% Chardonnay and 42% Pinot Noir (including 8% of red wine from Ambonnay for that glorious hue) from Grand and Premier Cru vineyards, that’s aged on the lees (the spent yeast that imparts all those wonderful nutty and bready flavours) for three years before disgorgement. Salmon-pink in colour and embellished by ruby-red reflections, the nose is filled with freshly picked summer fruits such as wild strawberries, raspberries, red apples and redcurrants, plus notes of dried cranberries, lemon zest, pastry, orange peel and toffee. The palate is generous and full-bodied, richly flavoured by ripe red berries, morello cherries and a hint of sweet spice.
