Angels & Vegans is Harvey Nichols’ exciting new luxury selection of twelve single-origin chocolates all different and all compatible with a plant-based lifestyle.
Chocolates so jaw-droppingly beautiful and epically giftable they must have been created by an angel. That angel is none other than Aneesh Popat who also makes our incredible chocolate bars. Better known as The Chocolatier he’s a multi-award-winning cocoa maestro who has been described as “the Heston Blumenthal of the chocolate world” and whose clientele includes royalty and Michelin-starred restaurants. Using his scientific background he has become famous for his highly innovative flavour combinations and intriguing ingredients. So we gave him carte blanche to create a dozen different chocolate truffles using ethically sourced cacao from the Dominican Republic. The result is twelve individual masterpieces that explode with flavours such as tangy passionfruit coriander seeds green cardamom hazelnuts from Piedmont Mexican lime hot chilli coconut sea salt Keralan coffee raspberry lemongrass happiness-inducing Brazil nuts and more. Chocolate in its purest form is naturally vegan friendly but it’s often diluted with milk and other animal products. Angels & Vegans will therefore be adored by those on a plant-based diet. We think the gelatine-free marshmallow one will prove particularly popular as that’s somewhat of a holy grail for many in the community. However these super-inclusive chocolates are not just for vegans they’re for practically everyone. And with around 14.5% of the gases that are causing the global climate crisis coming from meat and dairy production making little choices like this is a big win for the planet. Another reason to feel angelic.
