Although there’s huge excitement surrounding the Isle of Arran Distillers’ new venture the Lagg Distillery it would be remiss to overlook the revamped range from their original Arran.
The Arran Barrel Reserve is bottled at 43% to emphasis all those delicious sweet fruity notes that the distiller is so famous for. Matured in ex-Bourbon barrels it's delicious neat but we love it most in a highball bringing out and lengthening all those summery apple pear citrus vanilla coconut and sea spray nuances.
In the shadow of Goatfell at the north of the island Arran boasts some of the purest water in all of Scotland. This remote young distillery had to delay their opening to avoid disturbing a pair of nesting Golden Eagles but it has rocketed into the whisky hall of fame and is much-loved by connoisseurs throughout the world.
