Elements 1.0 is the first release in Laphroaig’s new Elements series, celebrating the unique production processes at the distillery. The experimental exploration of mashing and fermentation has revealed unexpected and new dimensions to the distinctive signature style and this compellingly crafted malt will enthral any Laphroaig connoisseur.
Laphroaig's distilling team crafted this new expression with 100% Islay Malt, along with using two types of wort and mashing in the old and new style. Once combined, these three elements create a whisky that is distinctly Laphroaig but with a unique twist. This intriguing no-chill filtered single malt delivers heightened tropical notes and phenols whilst still holding onto the characteristics of the signature style.
The expression brings forth aromas of fresh sea salt, smoky bacon, strawberry jam and grilled pineapple all with a distinctive undercurrent of bonfire embers developing into spiced and peppery layers where hints of tropical fruit, cloves and liquorice appear. The sweet smokiness of the dissolving spirit leads contentedly to a drying and long peated finish.
