They’ve called this vegan-friendly wine “Nau” a diminutive of the grape Cannonau but there’s nothing small about it beyond its cute stumpy bottle. This vibrant youthful and completely unoaked has a Tigger-like exuberance bouncing around with cherry plum blackcurrant wild strawberry herbes de Provence violets freshly roasted coffee and earthy tobacco. And what wines like this do best is pair with barbeques pizza tomato-based pasta and boards of salami and mature cheese. The low centre of gravity of Mora & Memo’s Nau Cannonau di Sardegna is another bonus when it comes to al fresco dining – something that we’d highly recommend.
