In 1971 the Sokol Blosser family planted grapes on just five acres in the Dundee Hills. As one of the pioneering wineries of the region Sokol Blosser has played a key role in developing and shaping the now-prominent Oregon wine industry. The winery is family-owned and operated with the second generation now at the helm. Sustainability is taken very seriously. In 2002 Sokol Blosser became the first US winery to receive LEED Certification and in 2015 the company went through the rigorous process to become a Certified B Corporation. All their wines are certified organic.
Their Evolution Sparkling Wine is a blend of many different grape varieties from different vintages at different levels of malolactic fermentation and oak treatments. The resulting cuvee is a charming and fragrant wine that boasts lively notes of orange blossoms ripe pear fresh lychee and tangerine from the addition of Gewurztraminer and Muscat. It is very aromatic but not overtly sweet with a lovely bitter herby hedge. A hedgier alternative to Moscato d’Asti it is perfect for brunch picnics and fruit-based desserts.
