Andrew Duncan, Harvey Nichols own expert Wine Buyer, has picked ten of our best rosé wines that are elegant, easy to drink and full of summer berries, crisp citrus and refreshing acidity. The Crowd Pleaser

Our Harvey Nichols Corbières Rosé has been described as “an absolute crowd pleaser that never disappoints” by our wine buyer Andrew Duncan.

This vegan-friendly, organically and sustainably farmed rosé delivers delicate and sophisticated notes of dried flora, red fruit and mixed herbs that leads into delightful, understated flavours of raspberry ripple, strawberry shortcake and an assortment of regional spice. Stylish and easy drinking, this versatile rosé wants to dance at garden parties, saunter in the sunshine and be savoured alongside lightly flavoured shellfish, poultry, salads and pasta dishes.  

The Picnic Companion

The pale pink rosé hints at Provence but it’s the gently pressed Turbiana and Rondinella grapes which create a vibrant and rich bottling with aromas of grapefruit, peach blossom and mandarin zest. Fresh citrus acidity and an intriguingly persistent finish make this a firm favourite for any summer (or indeed spring) picnic, where it will sit equally comfortably alongside simple canapes, as well as with pizza, salads, pastas and cheese.

The Alcohol-Free Favourite

Oddbird's Alcohol-Free Sparkling Rosé is a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes picked young, to capture the freshness and vibrancy of the aromatics. It is then aged for twelve months including a short time in small oak casks, to add richness and nuttiness.

Andrew Duncan explains that “the skill in the de-alcoholising process is what retains all the intensity and elegance of the wine”. Summer berry notes dance alongside zesty lemon sorbet, crunchy Granny Smith apple and honey toast, to deliver a sparkling wine you wouldn’t believe is alcohol free. The Organic Producer

Domaine Jean-Maurice Raffault has been producing wines in Chinon for fifteen generations and their 50 hectares of vines are farmed organically with no chemical fertilisers or herbicides used.

The dry, crisp and vibrant Chinon Rosé is bursting with summer fruits and refreshing acidity. Racy redcurrant and raspberry notes unfold alongside subtle floral undertones and herbal nuances leading to a long, fresh and succulent finish. Andrew Duncan suggests serving this lively French wine “next to strong cheese, barbecue offerings and spicy curries” for the ideal spring to summer sundowner.

The Southern Hemisphere's Finest

“Don’t let the origin of this wine fool you, this is a lovely wine and on a par with those rosés we love from Provence. The estates vineyards of Turkey Flat, are now some of the oldest there are and first planted in 1847. Small parcels of Grenache go into this wine, so it has incredible complexity and texture. This is one of those gastronomic rosés that makes you realise just how versatile the rosé style of wine can be and note that it’s not just for easy summer quaffing.” - Andrew Duncan

Barossa Valley, South Australia, is famed for its big reds, but Turkey Flat Vineyards prove just how world class the region’s rosé can be. A wine to rival any Provencal offering, this is one you will want to keep in your fridge all through summer. Andrew Duncan explains that “Kylie Minogue’s eponymous wine range burst onto the scene in 2020 and sold more than a million bottles within its first year. The magnum delivers her highly successful Signature Rosé in a larger form to ensure the party is well and truly started.”

Some days (or parties) call for a double sized bottle, and when they do, Kylie Minogue Signature Rosé Magnum is here to oblige. Produced at Chateau Sainte-Roseline on the Côte d’Azur, this easy drinking French rosé delivers bursts of pink grapefruit, watermelon sorbet, citrus blossom and strawberry meringue dancing across the palate with crisp and zingy steps. So, pour out a glass, turn the music up and start dancing to “Spinning Around”.

The HN Favourite

As one of our wine buyer’s favourites, Andrew Duncan explains “Domaine Ott is regarded by many as the gold standard of rosé and luckily for us they have produced another delicious rosé to spellbind us with.”

The BY.OTT Rosé 2022 is the latest release of their new cuvée and is made in a separate part of the winery that is exclusively dedicated to making BY.OTT. Attention to detail is key; the grapes are handpicked, the selected grapes are delicately pressed and then an extremely short maceration period produces the beautiful light colour. The enchanting pale pink hue of this elegant and captivating rosé will be sure to please, and with its bouquet of fresh red berries, delicate floral notes and hints of citrus, you can’t help but be transported to the sun-kissed vineyards of the French riviera when basking in its essence.

This is a much richer, full bodied and fruitier rosé than the popular, subtle Provence style ones. It is seductive and rounded with notes of strawberry, pink grapefruit and crème de cassis, making it the perfect rosé for the summer and beyond.”
