Stylist, writer, cosy crime author and digital creator of Hill House Vintage, Paula Sutton, swapped her glamourous London life for a countryside manor in Norfolk and now shares her love of countryside interiors, frocks and flowers from her quintessential English country family home.
Talk us through your summer style...
Nature inspired – always surrounded by flowers, whether on the table or on my dresses.
What’s on your Harvey Nichols wish list this summer?
A floral print ERDEM dress, a bottle of Tom Ford Lost Cherry and a Harvey Nichols British Selection Hamper.
Why Norfolk? And how has country living influenced your aesthetic?
Norfolk is the county of big skies and beautiful sunsets – sleepy coastal villages, miles of open fields and elegant Georgian towns. It’s unpretentious, relaxed and wholesome.
Where do you find inspiration?
My summer food inspiration comes from vintage cookbooks and traditional summer dishes, plus holidays spent in Italy and France.
What is the most interesting dish you’ve taken from your travels?
Shrimp and crab salad with a spicy hot sauce, which always reminds me of a taste of Grenada in the Caribbean.
Any packing tips?
Pre-plan your outfits - take pictures of everything you want to pack, even down to the accessories and socks. And always use a high-quality suitcase.
